Kohistani is a Dardic language that is spoken in the kohistan district, Khyber pakhtunkhwa province in
Pakistan. Dardic languages are the branches of the indo-Iranian language groups, which in turn was the
part of the indo European group. Kohistan is a word which means a mountain, “koh” means mountain
and kohistani means mountain people or people of the mountain land. It’s used to popularly represent
the several other languages of the mountainous areas in Pakistan.
